Lesson Objective:
Jesus is powerful over death- he rose from the grave so that we could have new life with him.
Bible Passage:
Luke 23:52 – 24:12, 24:36-48 (Jesus rises from the dead & appears to the disciples)
Memory Verse:
Luke: 24:46-47: He told them: The scriptures say that the Messiah must suffer, then three days later he will rise from death. They also say that all people of every nation must be told in my name to turn to God, in order to be forgiven.

1. What were the woman taking to Jesus’ tomb? Spices
2. What did they find when they reached Jesus’ tomb? The stone was rolled away and Jesus was gone
3. How did they react when they found that Jesus was gone? They were confused
4. Who did they find standing beside the tomb? Two men in white clothes
5. What did these two man say to the women? Why are you looking in a tomb for someone who is alive? Jesus isn’t here, he’s been raised from the dead!
6. When the ladies told the apostles/disciples that Jesus had raised from the dead, how did they respond? They didn’t believe it
7. When Jesus appeared to the disciples, how did they react? They were frightened, they thought they were seeing a ghost!
8. What does Jesus do to reassure them? Asks them to touch him to prove that he is real flesh and blood and not a ghost
9. What does Jesus remind them that the scriptures had said about him? That he would need to suffer and die, then rise again on the third day
10. How does Jesus dying on the cross allow us to have forgiveness for sin? Jesus was perfect and paid the price for sin that we deserve
11. What did Jesus ask the disciples to do? Go and tell everyone what has happened and ask them to turn to God for forgiveness!
