Lesson Objective:

God wants Pharoah to let his people go so they can worship him. He shows Pharoah that he is powerful by sending plagues to Egypt!

Bible Passage:

Exodus 8:1-15 (Plague of frogs)

Memory Verse:

Exodus 8:1-2 - He said to Moses; 'Go to the palace and tell the king of Egypt that I order him to let my people go, so they can worship me. If he refuses, I will cover his entire country with frogs!'

Story Idea: Frog Hunt & Tell it!

Before the lesson:

- Download, print and cut out some frogs, then hide them around the room with blue tack

- Gather a crown and robe from the costume cupboard

To introduce:

- Ask the kids if they can remember last weeks lesson, and prompt them to remember that God showed Moses that He was powerful by changing the stick into a snake and that God would help Moses to rescue His people

- Remind them that a miracle is something amazing that God does

- Have the kids hunt around the room to find all of the frogs

Tell the story:

Dress an older child as a king with crown and robe, have them stand at the front and do the actions you indicate to them

Collect some of the blue tack frogs from the hunt to use

- In Egypt, there was a Pharoah king who was not very nice

- He was keeping God's people as his slaves - they had to work very hard for not much money!

- Moses knew that God was POWERFUL

- He did what God asked him and went to the Pharoah king... 'LET THE PEOPLE GO! He said... 'If you won't free God's people, then God will send lots and lots and lots of frogs to cover the land - they will be in everyone's houses - even in the food!'

- The Pharoah king STOMPED his feet and said 'No way! I won't let God's people go...'

- So just as Moses had said, God did a miracle and sent lots and lots and LOTS of frogs - they were all over everybody - even on the Pharoah king! (Stick frogs to the king and his crown)

- The frogs were in all of the houses and they even got in people's food! Yuck!

- The Pharoah king was so ANNOYED by ALL of the frogs and know he knew that God was powerful too! He BEGGED Moses to get rid of them... 'If your God will take away all of the frogs, then I will let the people go and I will praise your God!' Said the king

- So Moses prayed and God did ANOTHER miracle and got rid of all of the frogs!

- God is POWERFUL and He got rid of the frogs, but the Pharoah king soon forgot his promises and wouldn't let God's people go...

- God is POWERFUL and He loves His people - He would keep working to save them from the Pharoah king!
