- Create a tree display (use brown and green tissue/wrapping paper on a wall as shown or bring in small potted tree)

- Download and print the fruits of the spirit on coloured paper and cut out the fruit

- Bring along a small piece of fruit

To illustrate the Bible passage:

- Ask the kids what helps a tree to grow (water, sunshine, soil etc.)

- Ask the kids how you can tell a fruit tree is growing well (it makes fruit)

- Explain that the Bible teaches us that God can help us to grow too!

- When we become a follower of Jesus, He helps us grow into the sort of people we should be!

- The Bible says that the way we treat others and the way we live is like the fruit on a tree - when we have good fruit, it shows that God is helping us grow!

- One by one, stick the fruit up on the tree, telling the kids what they are and what they mean
