- Children walk around the chairs to music, when the music stops, call out something that was created... the children have to find the picture and go and line up at that chair (the first child touches the chair, the second forms a chain with the first and the third with the second etc.)
- Any children who pick the wrong chair are out, if everyone is correct, the last child in the line is out and sits off to the side
- The last child in the game wins!
Craft Idea: Shoe Box Planet Diorama

- Before the lesson, collect a series of shoe boxes or small cardboard boxes and spray paint them black
- Gather paints, brushes, cardboard, string, thumb-tacks, tape and a variety of different sized foam balls
- Print the planet picture examples and the lesson reminder template
- Have the kids paint each of their foam balls like the planets in the pictures and splatter white paint across the inside of the box like stars
- They may like to cut out cardboard rings (a circle with a hole in the middle) and
- Help the kids tack a string into the top of each planet and fold the lesson reminder and stick it to the top as shown
Whole Group Display Craft: Planets

- Gather a series of different sized balls (basketballs, tennis balls, foam craft balls etc.)
- Use the solar system size picture below to assign the different sized balls to which planets they should be
- Before the lesson, coat each ball in a layer or two of paper mache (strips of paper dipped in some pva glue which has been mixed with water, then laid all over the ball to dry)
- Split the kids into groups and have each group decorate a planet using either paint and brushes/sponges or by sticking coloured tissue paper to the planet
- Rings can be made using large circles of cardboard with a hole cut in the middle to suit the size of the planet
- Hang the planets from the roof using fishing line tacked into the planet, along with the stars made by the youngest children and the banner made by the middle group
