Week 1: God Loves his People - And Sends a Rescuer
Lesson Objective:
God wanted his people, Israel to have a relationship with him. He asked Moses to lead them out of slavery so they could worship him freely.
Bible Passage:
Exodus 3:1-21 (Moses and the burning bush)
Memory Verse:
Exodus 3:8- And I have come down to rescue them from the Egyptians. I will bring my people out of Egypt into a country where there is good land, rich with milk and honey.
Week 2: God Loves His People - And He is Powerful!
Lesson Objective:
God is powerful - he showed Moses that he was powerful enough to rescue His people from Egypt!
Bible Passage:
Exodus 4:1-11 (Moses Miracles)
Memory Verse:
Exodus 4:12- "Now Go! When you speak, I will be with you and give you the words to say."
Week 3: God Loves His People- And He Shows Egypt!
Lesson Objective:
God wants Pharoah to let his people go so they can worship him. He shows Pharoah that he is powerful by sending plagues to Egypt!
Bible Passage:
Exodus 8:1-15 (Plague of frogs)
Memory Verse:
Exodus 8:1-2 - He said to Moses; 'Go to the palace and tell the king of Egypt that I order him to let my people go, so they can worship me. If he refuses, I will cover his entire country with frogs!'
Week 4: God Wants to Know His People - Israel!
Lesson Objective:
God showed his power by saving Israel from Egypt and leading them across the Red Sea on dry land.
Bible Passage:
Exodus 13:17 - 14:31 (Crossing the red sea)
Memory Verse:
Exodus 14:31 - Because of the mighty power he had used against the Egyptians, the Israelites worshiped him and trusted him and his servant Moses.
Week 5: God Wants to Know His People - Us!
Lesson Objective:
Like the Israelites, we were separated from God by sin... But God loves us so much and wants every one of us to know him.
Bible Passage:
Luke 15:1-7 (Parable of the lost sheep)
Memory Verse:
Luke 15:7 - Jesus said, 'In the same way there is more happiness in heaven because of one sinner who turns to God than over ninety-nine good people who don't need to.'
Week 6: God is Powerful - To Heal
Lesson Objective:
Jesus, as God's son, is powerful and can heal.
Bible Passage:
John 5: 1-18
Memory Verse:
John 5: 8-9 - Jesus told him, 'Pick up your mat and walk!' Right then, the man was healed. He picked up his mat and started walking around.
Week 7: God is Powerful – Over Death (THIS WEEK SKIPPED 2019 DUE TO QUIZ WORX)
Lesson Objective:
Jesus is powerful over death- he rose from the grave so that we could have new life with him.
Bible Passage:
Luke 23:52 – 24:12, 24:36-48 (Jesus rises from the dead & appears to the disciples)
Memory Verse:
Luke: 24:46-47: He told them: The scriptures say that the Messiah must suffer, then three days later he will rise from death. They also say that all people of every nation must be told in my name to turn to God, in order to be forgiven.
Week 8: God is Powerful - To Save
Lesson Objective:
God is powerful to show himself to us and save us from our sin.
Bible Passage:
Acts 9: 1-18 (Conversion of Saul/Paul)
Memory Verse:
Acts: 9:17 - Ananias left and went into the house where Saul was staying. Ananias placed his hands on him and said, “Saul, the Lord Jesus has sent me. He is the same one who appeared to you along the road. He wants you to be able to see and to be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Week 9: God is Powerful – To Change our Lives
Lesson Objective:
God is powerful to change our lives so that we stop doing the old wrong things we were doing, and start doing what Jesus wants us to instead.
Bible Passage:
Acts 9:19 – 21, Acts 16:20-34 (Saul preaches/ Paul and Silas in prison)
Memory Verse:
Acts 16:31 – They replied, ‘Have faith in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved! This is also true for everyone who lives in your house.’
